About Artist
Soulshine Studios was created by me, Lisa Rosemann, native of the northern Chicagoland area, IL, eater of Popsicles, and belonger of car singers anonymous.
Soulshine Studios began when I wanted a pair of cords and the only place to find them were in the thrift stores. Needing a way to make them fit, I sewn some patchwork in and I caught the bug. Soon after I was making random drawings and patchwork I sold in the lots of shows many years ago. It wasn't till recently I thought I would place my random creations up on the web to sell. With that came everything from scarves to tops to skirts to bags, and even paintings and prints. My love of crafting developed and began to take on a life all its own. Ideas sprung up from everywhere and all the time. A cute top at an expensive vintage store (Oh, I could make that, but way better…) or a necklace (That is a good idea, but I would do it this way…) would result in becoming a art supply junkie.
After this reality check I needed to figure out what to do with all this art and goods. The best thing for me to do was to create a website to display all my original and handmade goods and make them available for purchase by the public. And it was done slowly trying out my hand in designing one on some free space. And in this discovery process I decided to pick back up my education in graphic design. Here I am now launching my first (not-free) but official website as a graduate.
As an artist I began my professional career five years ago. I acquired my academic education as an artist from attending several schools including The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL and Milwaukee School of Art and Design, Milwaukee, WI. The International Academy of Decorative Arts, St. Louis, MO, is where I began my career as an artist. Working in the Chicago-land area I became a fine art muralist, and decorative painter. My work is influenced by images of nature and figures; the pronounced colors of a flower petal lost in foliage, reflection of light emerging through clouds, expression of a wrinkle that accents a smile, or the contour of a silhouette. The paintings of many great artist have influenced my work also, along with the patterns and textures of anything beautiful I encounter.
With my love and appreciation of music and everything it inspires in me fed my desire to create illustrations and my paints. Suddenly I realized I can bring all the aspects of my art I create together. So here they are. On this site are my most recent extension of my inspirations.
As a multimedia artist, searching for an outlet for each of my inspirations. I find myself in painting, drawing, graphic design, illustration, fiber, jewelry, furniture, murals, and faux designs. My dream is to live my life through my creativity, sharing it with others. Everything I make is created with love and care that passes on through my art. So living in a small town on the border of Illinois and Wisconsin, where I have my art studio is where my creative process begins... and eventually ends with you.
